Hi...Please check out tthe fishing reports on and I hope you can see the various opportunities the area has to offer. If you move here, we are always looking for input from those out there on the water....thanks...ed

Sorry I never saw this. Real late reply, but if you did buy, well then this info is still good.

When you say finger lakes you are talkin a lot of water. The main 5 are considered the finger lakes but there are several others. In fact there is so much fishing around there you will never get to try it all.
All of the lakes from Conesus on the west to Otisco on the east are long, narrow and deep. They have good populations of Lake trout, Brown trout, Bass, pike, Walleye and panfish. To the North is Ontario, known for huge Chinook and Coho Salmon as well as Browns, Rainbows and the warm water species.
Then there are to many streams to even begin to get into as well as the rivers that exit the finger lakes.

Bottom line, if fishing is what you require of an area you live in , the finer lakes region fills the bill.
The Adirondacks are another great region by them selves and lets not forget the St. Lawrance river from Clayton to the dam at Messana.

I hoped you would still be around to see it.
I was raised along the Mohawk River and have fished since I was 3.
Tell me more about what kinds of fishing you like to do and how you like to do it and I can give you more details.
Where in the finger lakes region are you looking?

I love bass pike walleyes muskie, more of a bass fisherman that does the others on the side, also like to take the wife panfishing. When I do buy a home in the area I was hoping to be somewhere that I could leave a boat on a dock all of the time, the old go catch my lunch in the morning dream. [fishin] Any tips on lakes that have homes on the water that are not too over priced, I don't want to go over the 200-300k range, thanks for all the advice!

Did a search for Finger Lakes Real Estate, there's lots of places that fill the bill.

Here's just one. http://test.fingerlakesproperty.com/915488
