Ice Fishing Uintas 12-2-09
#1
Got an early start to the day leaving riverdale at 4:30am arriving at 6:30am and fishing by 7:00am. Fishing was hot for most of the day. Between fellow BFT'er Brody Floto and I, we Had 100 fish iced by 11:30am. We then decided to move around and explore a bit before returning to our same exact 2 holes and icing an additional 53 fish by the time we left at 3:30pm. A great day on the ice with good company. Not really any size to the fish today. 14" I believe was the biggest fish with most ranging 10-12". Rainbows, Albinos, tigers and brookies. No grayling today.[frown]

Ice right now is a solid 8-10 inches with a few inches of snow on top. And it was freezing outside. I had a tent but if you didnt you would be clearing out your hole every 30 seconds. The fishing should stay good. In two trips so far this year over 200 fish and Only one other group that I have seen, and im not sure they stayed more then an hr.

Got my eye on Alexander. Haven't tried it in the winter, but have in the summer. Anyone ever ice fished it? Thinking I may even spend the night. Wondering what the snow conditions are and if I need a snowmobile for access yet?

As of right now no sled is required to get up there, but after the storms this weekend they will probably close the gates for the winter. "Not positive on that, just an assumption"
