I was wondering if anyone has been up to Salmon lately? I'm thinking about heading up there Friday and was wondering if they are still in there and if so, what are they biting on?

Sunday Mackay Res was about half thin ice and half open. Today between Ellis and Challis the ice was piled 5 feet thick in the river in spots with lots of slush on the move.

With reports of slush ice on the move my bet is the dead water is close to being frozen for the winter.

yea, i agree with you fishly, cant wait for the ice to break up.. today i found out im getting a new G-Loomis rod and im excited to get out and use it. i've used my dads and grandpas and they feel amazing. but i have no complaints with the rod my grandpa made me. i caught 12 fish in 2 outings and it feels great, but the loomis was a little better
