I just got back from Current Creek, it was a beautiful day, a bit chilly, but the best part was that I was the only one there. The road in is plowed but has a couple of inches of snow on it from the last storm. There was no problem getting in. The lake had 4-5 inches of clear ice with 6 inches of slush on top where I drilled. Some of the slush was frozen hard enough to walk on but where snow had piled up on it you would step through the slush so take good boots if you go. In the morning when I first got there I couldn't keep the tiny ones off my line. I was using a ratfinke and wax worms. Later I changed to a chunk of nitecrawler and started getting better sized ones. The biggest fish were 16-17 inches which I turned back. I did save some 14" ones for dinner. The one interresting thing for me was the fact that I caught more bows and tigers than cutthroats. In the last few years all we got were cutts.

And to think I almost joined ya. I was thinking about it but I thought I'd stay close and went to the pumphouse at UL. Not a single bite! Maybe sunday or even next week. Were you close to the dam?

I think I saw your group out there on the way to the Knolls. Glad you got into them because I got nada at both the knolls and pumphouse. Pretty day though and nice to get out. Headed to East Canyon on Saturday. Walk out about 300 yards from the last parking area at the knolls and was still in only 4.5 feet. Didn't see anyone catching at the pumphouse. SlowWWW!!!

No I walked north of the dam a ways. The slush was worse where I went than by the dam but the wind was less.
