olmstead dam?

I've heard some good reports of fishing right off the Olmstead dam. Has anyone had any success there? Also, I haven't been able to find it when I drive up the canyon to fish the river. Where is it located? Is there a sign for the turnoff from the highway in provo canyon?

The Olmsted diversion dam is the second small dam you will see going up the canyon. (The first one is the Murdock Diversion) I believe the diversion dam is downstream of the tunnel, so if you go through the tunnel you went too far. I doubt very much that the CUWCD will allow you to fish off the dam itself for security reasons; however, I am not sure. I think you can fish the small impoundment upstream of the dam. I do not recall a sign on the highway. There may be a sign on the gate into the dam site.

It's about a half mile upstream from Bridal Veil. It's difficult to notice from the highway. Just use either one of the Bridal Veil exits.
