From The Berry to The Gorge!
#1
Hit the Berry Friday morning (7am) to find the travel pretty easy and the whole place to ourselves. Spent the day at Renegade in a few of our normal spots and iced around 60 fish between the three of us. Only one fish over the slot all day.The slush monster was out in full force when we decide to leave (2pm). Wasn't to sure if we were going to make it back. After about an hour of fighting buried sleds and saying a few silent prayers we made it to the Renegade boat ramp and traveled the road back to the main marina. After all that fun we decided we going to Buckboard at the Gorge instead of dealing with the slush for Saturday. We were welcomed by wind and snow when we hit Buckboard about 7 this morning. Fishing was a little slow for us most of the day. We had a couple of hours where we landed 16 pups. Seen quite a few fish on the flasher but could not get them to hit. Expected to see more people out with the burbot derby going on but the crowd was pretty small. Headed for home about 4pm and 650 miles later we were back home. Nothing like an adventure for the weekend. Not too many weekends do you get the chance to fish those two bodies of water![Image: happy.gif]

Hey Crestliner,
Nice report! What were the conditions at BuckBoard? We were there 2 consecutive weekends a few weeks back and there was zero snow on the ice, and the ice was over a foot thick. Access via the shore was easy also.
How much snow is now there? Any snow/slush on the lake, and how thick is the ice? Thinking about getting one last ice fishing trip in there if the conditions are right.

Great report, hope that you plan on a trip with me next weekend as well. We need to get into a bunch of pups and find some bigger fish as well. Anyone have any thoughts or advice for the bigger mac's I have been twice and had lots of fun with moderate success on pups but have yet to find a mac over 5 lbs. Would love to see big laker under the ice in my hole. [fishin]

Hey CRESTLINER, thanks for the lift on your snowmobile[Smile] Sure was nice not to pull the sled clear out there! And thanks for all the advice! We ended up icing 14 in our tent, we didn't move all day. Just pups, biggest was only 22 inch and smallest 19. They sure were picky, we marked a lot of fish that either didn't hit or took a couple minutes to finally get a strike. We figured out that for us they were more likely to take smaller tackle later in the day. Overall it was an awesome trip for our first time to the Gorge! It's exciting to think every time you mark a fish that it could be a fatty.
