Bear Lake update Thurs 2/25/10
#1
I have been getting a few inquires about the lauching at the marina and whats going on out on the lake. The marina froze pretty solid last weekend which made launching impossible, but the last couple of days have been warmer, so we put the boat in and played "ice-breaker". You can now launch and access the lake again from the marina. There are some large ice cubes inside the marina, but the lake is pretty clear from the marina southward. There might be a few ice flows out on the lake but its going fast. As far as fishing goes, the cutthroat bite while trolling has been excellent. Try about 55-65 feet off the rockpile or along the east side from the pump house north to Cisco Beach. All locations are producing fish. Use downriggers to run small flatfish or rapalas in #7 or #9. Color really hasn't mattered. If you are jigging try the same depths and keep moving until you find active fish.
