Awesome video, its too bad that the ice we have to fish here isn't that crystal clear[]. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything you want in life.

I'm glad the ice here doesn't stay clear, it's a bear to walk on even with cleets.

I couple years ago I was on current creek ice fishing and thats what the ice looked like. it was acually pretty scary. I like alittle snow covering the ice.
Great video thou, at first a dident look like it was going to fit up the hole. [signature]

Yes it is a pretty cool video for a handlined mack through the ice.. The video came from a link off of North American Fisherman and the guys who filmed it are from the JIGHEAD crew..

[left]No way I'm out when the ice is that clear! I know it's stronger that way but I'm not big into the whole trying to walk on water.

It's hard to say, but that fish looks closer to 30 lbs. to me. I've caught a mack around 20 lbs. and that fish is significantly larger than the one I caught.

I guess they didn't weigh it but said it was "well over 20 lbs". When I first watched it, I thought he said "20 lbs". I'll buy that.
If I ever get off my dead butt, I'll get the video of nofish's fish posted. Very nice fish that was weighed at over 36 lbs. I know one thing, depending who's holding a fish make a big difference as to how big they look. I have a picture of a 24 lb fish caught by my buddy's wife and it looks like it would go 30 easy in the picture. There was a picture taken while I was releasing the fish and the fish looks pretty insignificant while I was holding it but I'm close to 6' 7" and pushing 250 lbs so no fish looks that big. A fish size/weight debate on BFT? Could it be so?[crazy]

Naw, never, BUT some of us have caught plenty of large lake trout so I guess that has a tendency to influence you to think what exactly is huge? 20 and 30 pound fish are nice but not HUGE! Huge is the 53 lber TarponJim's boat pulled in a couple years ago. To me, if it's over 40, that's special and huge! Ya, I guess I'm jaded!

I too have been very sucessfull , boating "plenty of large lake trout". I just get a chuckle out of some people always saying something like, " that fish isn't that big "or "your holding it wrong". It's like a comic strip, damn funny[laugh]
