My new record bass
#1
I finally beat my Quail lake record of 7lbs 15oz at Lake Fork, Texas. 8lbs 3oz caught on a watermelon red brush hog 20 lb. test to get it out of the moss and weeds. Woohoo!

AWESOME! i fished Lake Fork as a teenager many moons ago. right after the built it. I am sure the big bass were in there then, and it has just multiplied since. we actaully went there to target big blue gill.

I am jealous, would love to go back there some day.

Nice fish.. congrats..

Nice bass John, thanks for sharing. Sounds like you are having a good time, how many hours did you put in to catch that hog?

Nice fat bass! Must have been a great fight.

Admiring your pontoon boat. May I ask what brand/model it is and if you would recommend it? I am starting the evaluation process of using a pontoon instead of a bigger boat.

It's the Fish Cat Streamer XL, lightweight and the rear storage stays out of the water. The pockets are bigger than most toons which I like because I always bring a full arsenal.

I never measured any of the fish, I took the apron off which has a ruler on it. It just gets in the way when trying to lip a bass in between the toons. My buddy caught a 7 lb. 15. oz bass that was longer than mine just by looking at it but I love my girls with girth [Wink].

Alex's long 7 15 He is a saltwater fisherman and this is the first bass he's ever caught...rookies! lol

After thinking about it I may be wrong, I looked at the Fish Cat website. I keep it at my buddies house in Oklahoma so I'll give him a ring and get the accurate specs and send you a pm. Regardless, it is one of the best pontoons I've fished out of.
