Willard pm 13th
#1
Fished Willard from 2:00 - 7:00PM. Surface water temp was 59 early but cooled to 57 when a cold storm cell turned the breeze chilly off the the mountains. Trolled deep running cranks at 10 ft primarily. Caught one large walleye close to the mouth of the north Marina almost as soon as I got the first rod out. Another hour of trolling in the general area hooked up a very nice wiper. Trolled down around the freeway bay over toward the feed lot, nada. Checked out the submerged island, again nada. Water slightly colored. Few fish on the screen, mostly at the 10 ft depth. A dozen trailers at the N marina, perhaps that many at the southern, and many-many shore fishermen. I'm thinking things ought to be breaking lose.

Great catchin trapperdon. Did they seem to be suspended or were you trolling over 10 feet of water? You mind sharing what color crank was working for you? I hope to get out this weekend. Sounds like it is going to be nice for a change. Thanks, Fish on.

In response to the questions: I was trolling what I believe is a discontinued lure, a black & silver wally minnow at 10 ft and 2 mph as close to 10 ft as I dared. Both fish were big, 20+ inches. TD

Is the wally diver the same lure as a wally minnow? I know that is what I was using last month when I caught a nice eye also. The color I was using had black on the top and gold on the sides and bottom. I think it also dives to 10', I guess I better give it a try today[cool]. Thanks for the info and posting your report.
