I was thinking about taking the yak out to calville bay this thursday. Is there an easy access dirt parking near water so I don't have to carry my 60lb yak 1/4mile down the ramp? Last time i was there, i think it was quite a steep hill up towards the parking area.

You may be able to drive them down to the boat launch, drop them off with someone to watch them, and then park in the designated area and walk back down. I'm not sure but from what I understand, the hike to shore from Callville is bad enough with a rod and tackle box let alone a yak. Someone will have a better answer for you though, hang tight.

I always drove right down to the launch ramp, left the gear and parked the truck - a yak is a boat too, and you have every right to use the ramps- just stay out of the way! Leave your stuff to the side so you dont clog up a launch lane.
