my wife and I went out for our maiden voyage with our float tubes yesterday and our first qarry was walleye from starvation. I now know why a fishfinder is a very strong suggestion as far as accessories go on a float tube. We wet worms with a red tubejig and silver spinner blade for about 6 hours and then finally found some fish for 15 minutes before we had to leave. still never caught any walleye though, just some smallies. I fished on the north east side of rabbit point just heading east and just at the very tip of the point. Does anyone know where I should be fishing if I want to actually catch something I am going to try again later this week sometime and may actually try a night fishing trip with the moon the way it is. Although I will probably be catfishing for the full moon, which brings me to my utah lake report. I was so bummed from not catching anything at starvation that I went catfishing again last night. I caught one 18" channel and lost probably the biggest catfish I have seen yet. His head was about 8 or 9 inches across. I know because I got a good look at it while he wrapped it around a bouy pole and spit my line back in my face while he kept his lip ring and kind of d stupidly as he swam back out in the lake. I hooked into two other nice sized channels, but stopped reeling long enough to grab a net and both of them flipped and spit my hook back at me. It was kind of frustrating, but as beautifull as the night was it was hard to be mad long. Well this has turned into a novel of sorts so I had better end it. If anyone has any advice for me on catching some walleye at starvation I would love to hear it.
