There's a great deal online for a super fat cat tube for $150 with fins and air pump. Is there a difference in these two styles or pretty much the same thing with different apron and seat...? I just got the FC4 as some already know and love it. I'm asking about the fat cat because i want to buy it and let frineds and family use it but just wanted to know if its different in construction and material's than the newer style one or are they the same?. Who know's I may enjoy this one more and loan out my FC4. Thanks for any help in advance. Here's 2 pics of what im talking about.

is this a USED SFC? The reason I ask is they go for $350. to $399. and no extrtas. Where are you see a "Super Fat Cat" for $150.?
Are you sure it is a Super Fat Cat?

It's new but technically used because the guy bought it inflated and never used. How can you tell if it's a fat cat or a sfc..?

According to Outcasts website, the seat is the only difference. Oh and
Super Fat Cat apparently has two valves in the tube, Fat Cat one.
Super Fact Cat:

Tube Diameter: 13"
Fabric: 420 PC/600 PVC
Material Weight: 28 oz/sq. yd.
AireCell Material: Urethane
Seam Construction: Sewn
Warranty: 5
Valve Type: 1-Summit/2-Tube Summit
Weight: 12 lbs.
Load Capacity: 300 lbs.

Sounds like a killer deal. The last of the Urethane bladdered V tubes and one of the best on the market.

They still have a Urethane bladder, only now they are made overseas. Plus a few less D rings.

That looks like a Fat Cat. The backrest looks crowned and foam. Inflatable backrests look more flat topped and puffy. Can't tell if the seat bottom is inflatable from that pic.

The top picture is a Fat Cat like mentioned FOAM SEAT the second picture with an all black seat is the Super Fat Cat. Plus thicker back rest because it is inflatable.

Congratulations! You done well on this purchase.
I have a yellow one I got reasonable at $200. I didn't get it out of storage this season. I prefer fishing from my Fish Cat 4s
A lot of people enjoy the larger Fat Cat tube. Illinoisgiller

Right On...looks great! I have those same back packing fins and while they work...OKAY, you might want to look at longer fins in the future.
You did outstanding on that one...did you see any red lights or hear any sirens...[laugh][laugh][laugh]
As far as size, 99% of new comers do much better in a larger tube...a security thing. You are ahead of the game.

Thank's. I got some fin's already that I use for my FC4, those can be loaner's or I might get some Force fin's and loan out the one I use now. Either way Love the new Tube took it out today and it was nice.

Curious. I've been looking to move up from my FCIV. Why do you prefer it over the SFC?

SHig, My preferance is probably just personal.
The Fat Cat catches LOTS more wind.
It isn't as nimble in amongst the tree tops I get in at times.
I don't care for the fill valve. I fish tree tops a lot and many are locust and thorny. If my fish cat#4 has a small leak I just throw the pump fill hose in the tube still attached to the valve. If the badder gets a bit soft I lean away from that side and give it a couple pufs of air. (The fat cat valve is too "good" to allow fill without a pumps pressure.
I don't like the single bladder at all . I had a thorn hole I couldn't find and decided to pull the clumsy air cell out completly. I had a hard time getting the valve apart even with the special tools. When I did get it apart I found the valve is not part of the bladder. It is seperate and now I can not get it tight again even with the special tool .There is no way to hold the inside piece.
I emailed Outcast to see how much they would charge to let me ship it to them and they could assemble it IF they know how. NO ANSWER
It is in the attic storage with a bladder valve semi tight and crooked. ----useless.
The larger pockets are an advantage but I don't need the extra room.
If you need the larger tube due to weight issues, I recomend you loose the weight. I need to also.
My Fish Cat# 4 tubes are GREAT. Illinoisgiller

SUPER FAT CAT
Inflated Size: 45" x 64"
Tube Diameter: 13"
Fabric: 420 PC/600 PVC
Material Weight: 28 oz/sq. yd.
AireCell Material: Urethane
Seam Construction: Sewn
Warranty: 5
Valve Type: 1-Summit/2-Tube Summit
Weight: 12 lbs.
Load Capacity: 300 lbs.
You did say SFC so they both have dual valves.
Illinois, you can leave a hose connected to the valve with the valve adaptor
on a Summit also
You are right about it being bigger, but newbies feel safer in bigger tubes.
But the 1" diameter difference doesn't seem like it would really be that much more in the wind.
The Urethane is lighter, stronger and less effected by temp and altitude, over Vinyl too.
