Took the float tube to Vernon Reservoir yesterday for some fly flinging . Got a late start after putting shingles back on the roof. Arrived at 1600 hrs and launched to very calm 68
degree water, no wind at all. deepest water I could find was
13 feet. Started off with wooly buggers with no luck. Switched to midges then to hoppers to adams dries, pmd's
all with no luck. Switched to the spinning rod and my old standby lures again with no luck. Went to bait with no luck there either. Started watching everyone else and nobody was catching a thing. Packed up and left at 2030 hrs smelling like skunk. Hate that. Joni's flies cast like a dream
and are easy to fish. It was not the flies. Will try again soon.
