Bought me a win 338 rm 77. Just wanting anyones advice on what kinda powder has worked for them for most consistincy. big gun i know but i sure love it[Wink] im leaning toward the 225 g. any input...?

reloder 19 , and imr 4831 have been best for me. fine cartridge. i got the best velocity out of the rl 19 and best accuracy out of the 4831. this is in my 700 remington.

I second hulapopper I use IMR 4831 in my savage .338win with 215 grain Gamekings

I also shoot the same rifle. Love It! I would highly consider getting the trigger worked on it. Factory ruger triggers are pretty slappy and long. I had mine done down to 2 Lbs! Yes, I know that is not much but thats just me.

I shoot IMR 4350 in mine with nosler Ballistic tips in 200 grain. I have shot elk, deer and bear with that load and have had nothing but success!

You will love that Rifle. I have mine to where I can bench rest three under a quarter at 100 yards.

thanks for the replys. im excited to shoot an elk with it this year. ive used my modle 70 pre 64 .270 since i was 12 and it has never let me down so kinda Sad to move on, but ole nelly needs a rest on the rack. thanks guys
