new to Big Fish Tackle
#1
Hello all. I am new to this website, and I just signed up. I came on here to learn a bit about spinner making. I just started making spinners. I enjoy fly tying, and fly fishing the most. I still do conventional fishing. I am a 50 year old mom, and I have two teenagers. My son still fishes with me some, but my daughter does not fish anymore since she turned 17. I am hoping in 2-3 years she will get back into it. I taught them to fish when they were very young. My son knows how to fly fish a little, and my daughter does not. I have only been fly fishing for 2.5 years or so. I have been tying flies about that same time frame.

[#008000][Image: happy.gif]Hi there Kelkay and welcomed. Sometimes there are too many distractions for some teenagers to get totally involved in fishing. But I bet that if your daughter finds a nice young man that is interested in fly fishing - well then all bets are off.[/#008000]

Yes, I bet you are right on that. She is 19 now, and I am hoping at the latest by 23 she will be back in fishing. She used to like to fish. She used to watch her brother and I try very hard to find the "right thing" that the fish wanted for that day...and she would wander around, and read, listen to music. When we found what the fish wanted and we were starting to get strikes, here she comes all ready to fish. The weird thing was is when she did this, she would ask what we were using, watch us a second, and then she started to fish. 7 times out of 10 she would get the biggest fish of all. When things get slow, she would repeat. She waited until we were catching again, and it would start all over again...lol. She quit fishing when she got a cell phone, and her social life with kids her age was more important. Her brother still fishes with me, but he doesn't want to go as often as I do. He is not as patient as me in fishing either. He prefers conventional fishing. But certain places and times he will put the fly fishing gear out.
