[cool][#0000ff]It must be FALL FLING time at Da Berry. I have had a half dozen PMs from BFTers asking if I have any "TD maps" of Strawberry.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]As most who know me know, I don't really fish Strawberry anymore. Used to...and loved it. Just too many OTHER places I like better these days.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]But, I have collected a few maps from different sources to guide me in properly labeling a Berry map so here 'tis.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]For anybody who wants more details on roads or topography you need to buy a good paper map.[/#0000ff]

Yup - may have been one of 'dose. Thanks - another water I have yet to park my boat on. Just might to try 'daddin over THERE! From what I hear....
It's a great collection, and being able to "name spots" really helps. Thanks again.
I know some "other" site has a single post on maps. Is there a Sticky on BFT for maps? Could there be?

I picked up a nice map of Stawberry at Boater's Outlet in Midvale. It's waterproof and has all of the bottom contour lines, underwater springs & reefs, etc. It has helped me find some great spots to fish over the years. I'm sure Sportsman's or Fish Tech have them too.

great map! If you ever make modifications in the future, you might consider including: The meadows, the old dam site, the old dike.

Try this John, in the coming weeks we will be adding more maps along with the directions you see there now.

Or anyone can add their owns maps there as they see fit. This location is not for posting reports, just directions and maps to the Fishing holes

I think I have the same map, the great thing about them is it gives depths and underwater springs. Way important feature to have. That is what I use to decide where I am going to launch.

I have one of those... you would be surprised at what its "missing"
I have a couple of maps from the era when Strawberry and SC were seperate lakes... as well as the first map when they were combined. It shows a ton more underwater springs and other details. Sadly its starting to get tattered. I need to take the time to scan it I guess.

[cool][#0000ff]Thanks. I appreciate your appreciation. I don't even fish Strawberry but I made the quick reference map for a few folks that just wanted something like that. But folks wanna take issue because I didn't put one together with all of the humps, bumps, GPS numbers...or the exact locations of all the fish. SHEESH![/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]There are some good maps available if someone wants or needs more detail...and wants to invest a few bucks.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]I notice you do a pretty fair job of trying to disclose good information too. I believe in that, as long as it doesn't create excess pressure on places or species that do not need more pressure.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]But, it is always an individual choice as to how much detail anybody divulges. Some anglers just have a thing about playing it "close to the vest". And that is fine. As long as some of the others don't get uptight because they want it all.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Bottom line is that it is good to share whatever you can and will. But those who get upset when you don't let it all hang out should put in the time themselves to learn the waters like those of us who have already paid our dues.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]My philosophy has long been that life (and fishing) is a journey...and the journey is its own reward. I appreciate helpful shortcuts like anybody else, but I also don't mind putting in the time and effort to work something out on my own. Twice as sweet when you finally get there. [/#0000ff]

Oh I do agree. the hunt is as fun as the catch.
I like the maps to help me know where everyone is taking about when they say things like the light pole at willard and stuff. As for the info I give up its just to help others that are having a hard time. To me angling is for fun. now back when I fished commercialy it was my livelihood .then I would keep spots or methods to myself.

Phew, glad you didn't label or call anyone names[cool][ ]
Ahi1953, you are right that this map helps familiar yourself.
The lake is clearly marked with signs, so it is easy to find 99% of these places.
Like you said, the hunt.
But if you have never fished Strawberry, this is a good way to figure out where.

[cool] [#0000ff]Naw. I'll leave that to the net nazis and the snarky snipers who only post to make inane comments on somebody else's posts.[/#0000ff]
