Berry Cuts & Bows
#1
I was ask to take a father & son fishing at the Berry and today was the day...

We meet up up by Park City at 6:30 and was at the Berry by 7:15 and as soon as we got on the water the dad had his first hookup on a fluke a nice 22 1/4" cut...

With a start like this we new the day would be great, but for the next two hours only two small bows...
We headed for the Berry side on water so calm the only ripples was from the boats, we made a stop a few time to try our luck but no takers...

When we got through the narrows the water looked like pea soup, we fished a few spots with a small bow or cut but no biggen to be found...

We tried tubes and jerk baits and even a worm nope nota a fish with any size, then I got out the magic bait and the bows got bigger and the cuts as well...

In the next hour or so we boated three bows and six to ten more cuts that went from 20" to 23" and made our day...

What you see is not what it is, Let me explain...

First off the fish I am holding is a bass in bow skin [Wink] what gave it away was what it had in the belly..We found two chubs about 4 to 5" long each and four crayfish jumbo size +all the bigger fish had lumps that looked and felt the same as the one that is now in the smoker...

Just take a compliment when you get one --- sheesh...

But, because you asked: yes. I help with what I can, when I can. I'd be willing to bet that most people do. It is nice to see -- thanks for the report.

I was gonna ask, but ya done gone and answered already. I was trying to find some of your Willard Smallies, but the gulp leach was too long, and I only found bluegills nipping at it. Hafta try again!

Nice post - good pix.
What - no water temps today? Probably in your log. Glad to know some of them made it to your smoker. Had taken you for a bit of a C&R Purist, but nice to know selective harvest is in action.

Gotta see if I can't shake past some of the eager fresh-plants and dig into the more "mature" crowd.
Thanks for supporting the scouts. I had a chance to take a scout out for his "first" fishing trip earlier this summer. Good thing for Mantua bluegills! Good on ya!
