Strawberry fishing with my Dad
#1
Last week my parents came for a visit from California, I have been sending my Dad photos all year of the fish we been catching at Strawberry and he wanted to give it a try. First day was great, we caught 20 fish in the morning in four hours and 14 of those were caught in the first 2 hours and had two sets of doubles. Since my farther is 87 I was manning both downrigger's and letting him drive the boat. I couldn't hardly keep up with hooking up downriggers, netting fish, catching fish, it was so much fun. My Mom wanted a fish dinner so we kept all the keepers which managed to be 5 Rainbows and 3 Cutty's under 15". We got 6 Rainbows total, but had to throw the last one back because we already had our limit and he was the largest of all the Rainbows 16.5". The other 12 fish were all cookie cutter Cutty's 18-20". We picked up another 3 in the evening fishing for about 90 minutes and my Dad caught the biggest of the trip 21.5". Weather was perfect, no wind came up more then a breeze the entire day. We fished again the next morning and it wasn't as good as the first day, but we caught 9 in about 3 hours and they were almost all cookie cutter's 18-20". We trolled the entire time using two poles each, one on a downrigger with usually a Rapala and other with spoon or a spinner. Most of the fish were caught on the Rapala's.

We went up Friday and it was so stormy that our little 12 ft w/ electic trollimg motor could not handle it. We didn't get to fish. Hoping to catch some nice water like you did soon.

Good report, and some real fun pictures. We're headed up there Tuesday, hope we do as well. Partner and I troll as well, not a lot of bait fishing except for cats. Just one question, at what depth were you reading fish? Thanks again for the pictures.
