Boise River Hitchhiker Steelhead report
#1
There was a pretty good crowd waiting at Barber Park for the guests to arrive. Once they got here, poles lit up pretty quick-- for maybe 20 minutes, then the fish all but shut down. Semmed like everything was working- jigs/roe, spinners, plenty of flies. Saw a Spin fisherman next to me get a couple on a green wooley Bugger.

I got one right off the bat, and then another after fishing all the way to dark, nymphing with a fly rod and throwing egg patterns- the second fish was pretty big, maybe 8 lbs. saw one hawg landed by another fly guy.

That is a really cool resource they provide for those of you who live around there. I'm glad they find something to do with the fish.

I was able to make it down to fish for a bit right after they planted the fish and I had a couple of fish take a jig, but I could not get the hook set. Even without catching a fish it was fun to watch others when the fishing was really hot. There were alot of fish rolling in the pool they planted into and all considered it was a fun experience.

They plant again on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
