Ice fishing
#1
It's that time of year when ice starts to form. So time to pack up the auger and head out to fish. Yea right, instead I drove about 3 or 4 hours south to try out my new 6 ft
2 wt rod yesterday. No snow and no jacket needed. As you can see I did find a little residual ice from the recent cold. Not a bad trade off for highs near 60 and miles of streams to wade with no one in sight. Nothing like a couple days of fishing, hiking and mountain biking to put even my high strung dog into a happy coma.

NICE! I would take that any day of the week for sure!

I had to get the picture of my dog in that happy coma after the past couple days of activities. Nothing like a dozen hours of swimming and running to turn the scariest
40 lbs on the planet into an angel.

Joni, some of those streams are small enough for Baxter to swim across without worrying about him being swept away. Also very brushy and a 15 inch trout is a monster so bring a small rod. The 6ft 2 wt worked out well.
