Made it up to chesterfield today and fished from 8-2. Fishing was consistent most of the day until 1 or so. We caught fish in anywhere from 4 to 20 feet of water with jigs right off the bottom. The size of fish wasn't what we were hoping for but we did get 3 over 20 inches. I think the key now is to get away from the crowds as much as possible. We did well until a few groups set up close by then things slowed down considerably. On a side note, the jigger totters I bought my father in law for Xmas worked very well. The bites were very light in most cases and the jigger totters help tremendously to see the bites and get a good hook set, very impressive. Hope everyone is having a good holiday! Tight lines

How much snow is on the ice? Can you still pull a sled or is it time to bring the snowmoblie? Thanks fo any info.

There is about 4 inches of snow on the ice. Dragging a heavy sled is difficult for any distance so unless you have a very light sled a snow machine is probably a good idea if you are wanting to get away from the parking area. If it snows much more and they continue to not plow the road, you'll need a snow machine just to get to the reservoir.

Thanks for the update. Talk to a Bancroft local that told me the county will not plow until people are parking on the main road. So far he was right. bummmerr if you don't have a machine.
