Heading down to Wayne County this weekend. Is the perch catching as good as it was a month ago when I was down at Mill Meadow?

Still hot as of one week ago. It should be fast action. I recommend going!!

I think you can count on fast action for the perch. Plan to catch about 8 or 9 dinks for every one you'll want to keep and fillet. Last week we caught a bunch and we kept the ones that were about 7.5 to 9.5 inches. We're headed over there again on Thursday and I may post another report on the latest conditions.

How far is Mill Meadow from SLC? Sounds like it must be in Central Utah somewhere?

Does your signature line refer to fishing with me? I don't ever remember sharing any water with you and I have never been skunked. []
Mill Meadow is located about 10 miles north of Loa just off State Road 72. It's on the way up toward Johnson Reservoir and Fish Lake. The road beyond Mill Meadow is not plowed for winter access to Johnson Res. or Fish Lake. I believe I've been told it's about a 3.5 hour drive from the SLC area, possibly a little longer. Deffinately 3.5- 4 hours from Salt Lake and I would consider it South Eastern Utah.

I was down there Sunday. There were 10-12 others on the ice. I talked to a guy by the ramp that said he was there Saturday also. He said there was LOTS more people Saturday.
I thought the bite was a little picky compared to a few weeks ago and I thought the size was a little smaller. Took me 3 hours to sack 18 keepers (and that's stretching the definition of "keeper". They still tasted great! [signature]

Thanks for the input. I know that about a month ago it was awesome with alot of nice keepers. I am going down Sunday so hopefully we can bring some perch home. I'm sure there will be alot of people on Saturday so hopefully I can avoid them by going Sunday.
