I fishied at Painted Rocks from about 8am- 11:30. Never seen a mark on the Vexilar. Drilled about 20 holes but did not fin them. There was about 15 others there fishing and I didn't see a fish caught. Everyone was doing a lot of moving. First time I have ever been skunked at Yuba!

Ice is thin around the edges but plenty thick. I was there Sunday with no luck.

I fished Yuba on Friday and Saturday near the Painted Rocks boat Ramp. Caught a couple of perch just off the boat ramp and a couple by the island. Fishing was slow. The perch were the 4-5 year class. I talked to one guy that said he caught a 24 inch pike on Friday. The Ice was about 6-7 inches, but they had soft edges. Shouldn't need a plank, just be careful.

I was there Saturday. The worst butt kicking I've got at Yuba ever. I marked a few fish all day but could not get them to open their mouths. Pretty dissapointing.

Ice was good. 10-12" Edges good enought to get a wheeler on no problem. Bring your cleats.

It's a little late, but we took the family out on Sunday. Started near the narrows. Marked fish for hours. Hubby missed a bite, and I managed to land one ten incher. Thought it was game on at that point, but not so. Stayed there for about another hour then moved over near the island, nada. Then to another spot south of the Island we've had luck at before, and still nothing.
Took our snowmobiles on the ice, no problems getting on or off. The edges were solid when we left at three. Hope you have better luck than we did. The kids were bummed we didn't catch more.
Included are two pictures of the same fish. Seeing as it was the only fish of the day it was well photographed.
