We fished north of the island from about 645-1 they stopped biting at about 11. They probably went deeper, my buddies stayed and got a few more, but I was jonesin a burger. Here are some pics. My best was a 16 inch rainbow. Nice pink flaky flesh. We also found a crawdad in one of their stomachs so they are eating well. Another one had a nice hookjaw developing. Ill see if my buddy can get me his pic. Here are the ones I took.

Nice day! Good catch! Tell me where a guy can learn to filet trout! One of the main reasons I don't fish hard for trout is that I have only learned how to filet a really big one, which I never catch...
None of the Youtube videos made any sense to me...

I like cooking it with the skin on, just descaled. They after its cooked I peel the skin off. That way I get a little more flavor from the fat.

I skin them like a catfish, season them, and fry or bake them. It has to be a large trout for me to fillet them. Usually, if you skin them most of the brown fat stays on the fish, so you don't lose much flavor.

filleting takes a little work with them smaller trout but if u just get the whole fillet and pin bones still in the fillet. I just cut a small strip on both sides along them bones and just discard it you still have a good fillet doing it that way instead of pulling them out individually. On them bigger fish You can see them bones much easier and you dont have to lose as much meat when you cut out them pin bones.
And I always have two fillet knives when I fillet. one for all the cutting off the fish and one only for getting the meat off the skin. Gotta keep that one sharp.
