ChesterField ice conditions
#1
Just wondering if anybody knows what the ice conditions are at chesterfield. I have not been out there since the end of Janurary. A friend of mine has his son home from the military and he would like to take him ice fishing and he asked me about the ice.

Thanks for the info.

Plenty of ice but the fishing is slow and spotty. Fished it yesterday (Sunday) They were bitting light and the two of us only landed 6 in about 2 1/2 hours.

Thanks for the info.

How is the road going in? Last I heard you needed a sled to get in.

I went by Chesterfield today. I don't know how the fishing is, but there were about 6 or 8 groups out on the ice.

The main road is good. The small road in is passable, but could blow in very easily with the next storm. Most of the vehicles going in are 4 wheel drive trucks.

Here is what the road looked like today:

Thanks for the information and picture. I will pass it on to my friend and see if he wants to take his son out.

My son and I fished Chesterfield today for 7 hours and only got one fish on the ice. Had a couple of bites but they quit as soon as we got to the pole. It was a great day for fishing until about 3:00 pm then it started blowing and snowing. Good fishing just not any catching. The ice is still really thick and the edges are frozen solid. A couple of 4 wheelers and a couple of snow machines were on the ice. We were on foot so we did not venture to far from the boat dock. A quarter mile or so north of it. About 4 inches of powder snow on the ice. Very good traction. Good Luck
