We fished below Shoup today and it was slow. Caught 1 steelhead 2 suckers and had another fish on that felt like a steelhead.

The river was muddy you could see your bait about 3 inches below the surface and then it disappeared. There was a lot of ice and wood flowing down at times. There is still ice clear across the river in places in the canyon, around Shoup, and of course deadwater. I don't know how fast deadwater can break. But it is iced up more right now than it was in mid February last year.

Good luck and keep us posted.
