if you get the chance head to tippy , the action was non stop all day long . bring the biggest net you have too , figure on landing fish that are over three feet in length !

i spent hours looking for directions and never found clear directions . so i just headed off in that direction (west ) untill i found it . there were a couple jokers at the gas stations that sent me the wrong way a couple times . but i had one guy that set me back on course . he was from mountana no less !

just follow highway 55 west and it takes you right to tippy dam road in wellston mi. go past t.d. road a 1/2 mile and theres a gas station - store that carrys all the gear you will need for fishing .

55 west signs just follow them it zig-zags a bunch and mixes with other highways but just stay with it (highway 55-w) and you'll get there !

oh yea , darndest thing that happend on my way there , i almost hit a 8 point in downtown houghton lake , right in front of wall-mart ! what was that deer doing there ??????????? lol !

did you run in to any walleyes when you are out there.

union lake is known more for the eyes than the perch. the walleyes seem to be getting thiner there as the years past. it may be time to do a restocking.

I do catch my share of small perch out there. few have any size to them. I have yet to pull a walleye out of there, I useualy go out there during the winter. I hit in to a bunch of perch a couple weeks ago on commerce.

do you live near there? I am about 3 miles from union lake.

union lake the way i understand it was restocked with catfish the last two years, they are doing a study at the lake (anglers report) to see if the last stocking was any good (june of 99) all i cought was a bunch of blue gill, the union lake i go to is in union city in branch county, nice little lake but one has to watch out for tree stumps where the lake begins...found one yesteday...bummer....
not only did i catch some blue gill I well the truck wouldnt start there when i was unloading the boat....a wire decided it didnt want to stay on the starter anymore on the ramp...good thing the people were nice, then after i was finshed fishing I had to push start the ol' girl to get home. needless to say she is still on the ramp there in the driveway to put the wire back where it belongs
