More Outlaw Escape Questions

I have a ODC 420 and also bad knees and feet. The Escape looks like it would be easier on the bod the using of the oars looks like it moves you along pretty easy. I'm I right on that ? Also will my Fisin Buddy be able to strap on like a reg. tube? What about the strap on rod holders. Do you use fins with it if you want to troll?.

I am just going to say, this is different than all the other tubes because you can row. But, you can't put anything on the out side side of the the tube because of the oars.

There are two holes at the point of the tube. You can make them bigger.



I used a Scotty rod holder and strapped it on the back.



you will want to slide the gear bags back as far as you can so you don't clip them when rowing. Your sonar can be used, but you will need to figure out the best place to again, avoid the oars. I would thing on the inside by your knee.

They do fly with the oars, no two ways about it.

You can troll while rowing, or with flipper power.

No, Same size at 6' long.

I'm referring to the pic you posted, the seat doesn't look as big as the one I had. Maybe it's the contrast between the blue seat and the gray sides.

No changes that I know of other than they are some how lighter now. This is last years model

What I use is a fishing buddy and the outcast float tube strap. I put it around the tube portion and remove the fishing buddy when I want to row. It easily can sit on the side of you and you can put it back in the holder when you want to use it again. I generally kick with my fins when trolling and row when I want to cover some water. I am sure you can buy the strap on pole holders scotty makes as well.

For additional locomotion options, you can put a trolling motor on the Escape, but there isn't much room for the battery.

You can also put a trolling motor on your float tube. Search out the trolling motor entries on this forum. Lots of ways to do it.

The motor really helps in getting where you want to be, if you can't kick for long periods at a time.


I have a motor on a Fish Cat 4 and on an Outlaw Renegade. -- more room on the Renegade than the Escape for batteries etc.

Don't have a good picture and this is the Renegade, but no reason you couldn't do it on the Escape.



Notice the straps in the knee area. That is a Scotty rod holder. It is on the inside , but slightly off the top. Out of the way of the legs and completely out of the way of rowing. This tells me that a Fishing buddy would work on the inside.
In fact, with that foot bar, why doesn't some one come up with a way to clamp it on the foot bar between your feet. Easy to see, easy to tilt up out of the way...Possibilities? I mean the bar is fixed.
