If you want to deal with the crowds at Glassman and Steeds pond pistol petes are the buggers to use. After the mass stocking at glassmans 1599 fish on a 3 acre pond you can't miss. Some nice cats showing up too.

So where's Glassman's at? Sounds like a community pond? Seems like their first rounds of spring stocking have had their impact. Same in my neighborhood. Saw some guys fly fishing and they were spanking my jig/worm/bobber routine.
But when I moved to a Kastmaster, or a Jakes - it was on. They were just attacking. I was gonna try a fly-bobber with a pistol pete. But anything shiny, I'll bet I would go through my spinners too and nail 'em.
It was just fun - what with all the weeds down you actually can spin-cast! But that won't last at my local little pond.
I think the catfish and bluegill have fished out or died off in this pond. Wish they'd mix it up a bit.
Thanks for the report

Im getting them most on a olive green with a red tail. But then I tried a brown sparkle with brown tail and did almost as well. My friend who makes them said he got over 30 one morning on his speckle black body with a white tail. I haven't tried that one yet. Good luck. Which pond do you fish?

Glassmans is kinda behind MC Kay Dee hospital. And actually they have been stocking it quite a few times already this year, Just never that many fish before. 1600 fish is a awful lot for just a 3 acre pond. The reason they did that many was im told that they had a kids fishing class/derby last week and they wanted to make sure every kid had a better chance. I went again today for about 3 hours and I caught at least 25 and my buddy about the same. There are less people there during the week. Keep in mind that there are only five small spots to fish from there. The rest of the area is covered with reeds and you can't really get to it.
What ever you do, DO NOT hop the fence at the south end of the pond. I looks like a great place to fish, but it's tresspassing and they do inforce it. They will ticket you and take your poles and tackle box and you will have to go to court to get it back.
Have fun

Bingo - that's it. It's like good practice, locally.
Haven't been to your pond, but think my closest is smaller yet. You can cast from one shore to another. Fun seeing folks practicing a fly. I need to give that a go - just wish they'd clear some of the low branches and weeds.
Fun to be able to use a spinner before the weeds take over. I was hitting every cast, so thought I'd experiment. Ok - got a pond of fresh fish that'll chase ANYTHING - lets see what hits. Tried some Joe's flies, various spoons, some homemade numbers (yes - they got hits! Wohoo). First time in water for a number of spoons & spinners. Give it 5 pitches each, then move on.
But it still came back to that gold/red dot Little Jake - was loved the most.

With a pair of polarized lenses it's fun to watch a whole school follow your lure right, swiping all the way. My boy got a kick out of that. I had a chance to hand a rod to some guys 3-4 yr old kid to reel. He had a serious fight on his hands. Man was he winded! Nice.

Yes, And it pisses me off!!! I glad to hear that someone else is missing that many too. Maybe cutting the tail down like you said would help. Have you ever tried a tralier hook on a pete. I haven't but I will next time for sure.

Yes Coyote spinner that's when I take advantage of trying new stuff. But I give them 10 cast each unless they hook up. Theres nothing like getting fish on your home made lures. I once caught fish at locomotive springs on a small piece of black window rubber from my car window. That was interesting.
Have fun bud.
