i will be staying in allens park over the weekend, and was wondering if anyone could point me to any good greenback cutthroat lakes in the area. so far i've caught 7 (sub) species of cutty, and would love to hit number 8!!

Lily Lake, just south of Estes Park, has greenbacks. It's catch and release and right along the highway. A number of lakes in Rocky Mtn National Park have them as well, but are hike in lakes. If you're interested in those, I would inquire in one of the fly shops in Estes Park.

I did! I ended up fishing the north fork of the st. vrain a good ways into the park and managed to pull a few out. Now I just need the rio grande and I can check off the state of colorado!!

you cant check off CO unless you hit the Arkansas, South Platte, Taylor, Gunnison, East, Roaring Fork, or Frying pan LOL

I grew up in southern CO, basically on the Rio Grande and let me tell you pike galore!! I would definitely hit it up when you can.

haha good call kochanut...i haven't been so crazy as to hit cutts from every sub drainage, but definitely want to hit all of those rivers!!!!

i'm planning to hit the dream stream tomorrow but would be down for sunday too...the only thing is i need to head for ft. collins in the afternoon so i would be heading up there for sunrise. im game for the ark too, but i don't have a float of any kind if thats how you are planning to fish. let me know what your plans are

as of right now, saturday afternoon i will be below pueblo res.... sunday it looks like im going to start at vallie bridge and work my way down stream
