Patrick and I started fishing topwater around grass. No bites on a buzzbait and just one blowup on a stickbait. I started pitching a Beaver to the grass edges. They seemed to enjoy it because we had a limit in 30 minutes including one over 5 and one 4 1/2 lbs. Patrick got into the game pitching a Berkley Chigger Craw. We would continue to use those two lures the rest of the day. We only fished a couple of spots. Both around grass. We caught around 50 fish including 12 keepers. We would only upgrade a couple of ounces at a time. We ended up finishing 4th with 13 lbs and change. Our best 5 would've gone 20 lbs +. All our fish came out of water 5 feet or less.
Cool sidenote: While running down the water we ran under an Osprey flying in the same direction with a nice 3 lber in its talons.
