Went out Friday launched south marina around 9:00 AM, tried some trolling with no luck. Cruised into the north marina and tried some jigging. Quite a few people were fishing. I used a lightweight pole with 4lb test and a small plastic. Picked up the wiper shortly thereafter. Quite a fight on light tackle. Fished a while longer and picked up the three crappies. Two were 12" to 13" and fat. Jigged a while longer and picked up the male walleye. Looking forward to this front moving out and will give it another try on Wednesday.

Concur - nice report. I'm with Roghet - makes me wanna don the skunk-resistance suit, and give it another try.
So - are the crappie moving into the marinas? Do they hit both, or seem to focus more on the N. Marina?
Need to try some new cranks and see if I can find some willing Post-Spawn walleyes, or early season wipers getting frisky. Gather they are going through a pseudo spawn themselves.

Super post, thanks for sharing.
Were you fishing the jig under a float, vertical jigging, or doing the slow retrieve thing? I've had better luck under a float most of the time for the crappie.
