Hit sandy beach area yesterday (friday) and managed about a dozen white bass and a couple good channel cats. I just about lost my pole after a fish started dragging it in the boat, it was a big fish (i'm guessing a carp) and my buddy had the smart idea to "loosen your drag so you can fight it for a bit", well as I did that I turned the stupid drag the wrong way, the fish did another head shake and snap. Man that made me sick. Then the next fish I had on, drag now corrected, snapped my line again, this time I think the knot I tied didn't hold up. Gosh this will haunt me for a while now, what if it .... man could have been a state record ha ha. All the white bass were caught inches from the rocky shore, the cats were in approx. 6 feet of water, night crawlers was the poison of choice for them. I'm happy to finally post, it's been a while since i've had a healthy day on the lake, it feels so good to finally catch a few!
