rio grande pike

anybody ever hit the rio for pike? i've only fished the river between south fork and creede...thinking about a weekend of camping and any info on the area or the fishing would be great!

I know there are some, but I've never fished it for pike.

since your in that area, if your willing to make the drive to Sanchez Res near San Luis CO you could hit that still water for some decent pike, fun walleye, and monster brown and small mouth fishing. if your going to shore fish it i would suggest the north shore

if you can look at a map of sanchez, the area between the island and the private property is your best bet. if you have a float tube any of the rocky shore near the dam will produce as well. ill be in your neck of the woods later in the summer. ill send you a PM and i still have your phone number.

May and June are great times to fish Sanchez. From what I heard last summer, Sanchez is definitely back!
