The above-attached article from the Seattle Times outdoor section has me excited for my annual trip to Sekiu. One of the 5 largest chinook runs predicted for the Columbia, 6 million pinks, and a very good coho run should mean some terrific fishing. Time to get those reservations for some bright salmon fishing! Mike

Thanks for the salmon update - hope their forecast is correct. I usually fish the fall Columbia run so I hope some of those fish will wait for me to get there...

We arrive on Aug. 8th and leave the 12th. I was guessing they would close kings on the 15th, and guessed correctly. King and pink fishing should be good at that time, but could be early for coho, although they do arrive early at times. Why do you ask....are you reconsidering?! Hey, with that limit of 2 kings and two more pinks, I know you can be back on the docks by 8 or 9!! Mike

I'm sure the weekends will be tough, but the weekdays might be doable. If VanRipers is filled, try Curley's. They often have available reservations this late. It would be great to have you over there again. Mainly because we like you, but also because we can scout a lot more water!!! Mike

Alright! Looking forward to Sekiu even more now! I will PM you in regards to a hot new lure being used over there. Not that it is a secret. Just don't want to bore a bunch of people. Kali says "yeah". Mike

getting pretty excited myself. it's nice to have family up on whidbey island to stay with every summer[Wink] we'll be fishing out of coupeville at the end of august. pretty jacked about the pinks, but there is suppose to be an awesome silver run too. we usually do pretty good trolling for kings as well.
