Escaping the heat in the Uintas
#1
Took my son and dogs back up Mirror Lake Highway to escape the near 100 degree weather this afternoon. Highs up there where about 68 degrees. Lost Lake ice off is coming along and the fishing is improving with more open water. Nice day to be out. I'll attach a few pics from today.

The scenery is always worth the trip. I didnt know if the road was even open to Trial yet. Glad you found a couple fish. Looks like a great day to be out. Thanks for sharing

Sorry about that but I meant to write Lost Lake not Trial. The turn off for Trial had about a foot of snow then some road without snow. Once you get back in the trees the snow takes a bit longer to melt so I didn't bother trying to drive or hike up. Maybe by the Fourth of July. I'll go correct my original post.

That's a recently stocked dogfish. Always use forceps and keep your hands clear when removing the hook as they bite very hard.

We have a family cabin up off Mirror Lake highway and you get them hair fish out of Lily Lake too. Thanks for the report; I’ll be heading up this weekend.[Wink]
