Family vacation change of plans
#1
this year our family vacation was going to be an Elk hunting trip for me, but due to some unfortunate events, that fell through...now I am looking to take the family on an awesome fishing trip. We prefer to camp out (I have an awesome wife and she loves it) we want to catch lots of fish, a variety of fish, and a chance at my wife landing her first largemouth....where would be some suggested locations....OK we pretty much fish at Utah lake every day so besides there (plus the largie fishing has slowed down)

[cool][#0000ff]You might want to consider Jordanelle. That camping area on the south side of Hailstone is nice...and close to the PWC launch. Good fishing from shore for trout, perch and some smallies. If you have the boat you can work the brushy shorelines along the west side, all the way to the dam. I know of quite a few largies that have come from that area as well as lots of smallies.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]It will definitely be cooler and with better scenery than Utah Lake. Nice facilities too. Always a plus when you have the family.[/#0000ff]

Pelican lake is another option, in addition to largemouth it has plenty of bluegill. I'm not sure how the fishing would be if your fishing from shore. There are many lakes in the area of Vernal that are good, including Red Fleet but other than trout and walleye, I'm not sure what
else it has. Good luck.

That time of year I would make a trip down to Powell. There's plenty of places to camp along the shore and the fish are hungry.
