i am going to pineview for the first time i wanna catch some fish for my boys what would be the best fish and easy way to catch a fish and bait ?

will you be bank fishing or in a boat?
I am yet to get anything other than SMB there this year, have managed one mud cat and some carp but have been unable to locate the perch, gills, or crappie this summer.
Fish some of the submerged trees and vegetation and my most consistent lure this year for the smallies has been a 3.5in green maniac cuttr bug using a slow retrieve.
I haven't been there since last week so this may have changed, otherwise a good old weightless worm should work.
