The berry
#1
Got the chance to it the berry once again this past weekend, watching the lunar tables it showed great possibilities, we hit the water at 6:45, the boat fired up nicely, we zipped over to our #1 area, and quickly located fish, our favorite pattern is to troll, usually one lead line with flatfish, one with needle fish or rapala, and one mojo pole on the rigger using apex lures or squids. The water was glass and the air was crisp!

With all the poles in the water it was a matter of minutes, that we had a fish on, mono pole with fl apex, landed a nice 20" bow, before had the pole back in the water the flatfish pole was dancing, 18" bow, the pattern continued hot and fast for the next 1 1/2 hrs, land 15 bows, no cuts,

By 9:30 we had culled al the fish under 18" and had a good limit for the smoker. So we loaded up the boat and headed for home. Quick trip, fast action exciting day on the berry,

I just hope that doesnt mean I'm due for a skunk day!

Total catch. 21 rainbows, 5 cuts, no chubs, no kokes
Average length 18"
Average weight 2 lbs
Largest 21" 4.5pm bow

Thanks for the report. Glad to see you guys hooked into some big Rainbows up there. Usually the Cutts are 15-22 inches and the Rainbows are below the cutt slot. Glad to see things are finally turning around! Gives me hope for the up coming ice season.

I'm not trying to be a [#000050]deleted[/#000050], but it's illegal to cull trout. From the proclamation "[size 2]A trout, salmon or grayling may not be released if it’s been held on a stringer or in a fish basket, livewell or any other type of device. "

Thanks for the reminder , we were aware that culling trout was illegal, I used the wrong terminology, all fish were immediately released that we felt were to small. Thanks again, it's always good to remind each other from time to time

But, I bet it happens a lot....

Great report KC as usual. Thinking our turn this weekend.

Beware, however, anyone heading up for Saturday and early Sunday, expect delays as they are doing the bridge west bound this weekend.

Thanks for taking that how it was meant.[Smile] I just started fly fishing a couple of years ago and I find myself going over the regs more often than when I almost exclusively fished for warm-water species.
