Jigging for lake trout--help??
#1
Mac hunters I would love your help[Wink]

I know lake trout are a hard fish to catch. I have tried and tried again to catch the "one", but only have ended up with pups.

Well me and my dad are headed to fish lake this thursday. We always do well there with the splake, bows, and perch...but I wanna try jigging for some lakers.

My questions:

What line is best for jigging the mackinaw? I know I gotta get deep and still be sensitive. Your input would be awesome

What size of jig? I use tubes alot for the splake, but am open to anything else.

Also if you know of any hot trolling tips, or any tips in general... i'd appreciate it.

PM me if you'd like, and thank you [Smile]

your gonna want braided line with a mono or something leader. big tubes will work just about every were on the lake. just enough weight to feel bottom around 1oz.

Use your electronics if you have um and find some humps and try to stay position over them vertical jigging them only 1-3 inches off the bottom. Hope that helps
