river monsters at the jordan !
#1
The kids needed to go and do some fishing this morning [Wink]. we headed out to the jordan by the house just south of 90 th. ( park at golf area) we have had good luck all summer on white bass and small kitty cats . to day was all dif no white bass on our go to baits white jig or pink jig with a worm.

to day was all cat fish and the best kittys of the summer for us on the river. all cats we got on a white jig tip with worm or a worm and shrip combo. we got all of the fish under a bobber slow rolling in the back bends of river .
these fish are nothing like the fish the boys get out of the bear river but for the kids to get into 9 fish in just a few hours today it was good.[cool]

i did not put a tape on any of the fish. and im no pro at fig out how big a fish is. how big would you say the big fish of day is ?

Wow, you did great! I fished the Jordan River yesterday myself around the Millrace Park area and the river was high and fast moving with no action. I was using only worms though, by themselves, so maybe the next time I'll attach a jig to the line. Thanks for the info!

kids yell fish on every time[fishin] .. river monsters is the show they watch every time .my boy has all of them on the dvr.

i my self did not even get my pole in the water i was to busy unhooken the fish for the kids [Smile].

kids helped out with the post and just had to call it river monsters . it was good to see them catch some big fish worthy of a post they wanted to call river monsters.

i will let ya know next time we going out should be some time this week.

the river is flowing fast we even saw some brush go by a few times im not sure it will slow down this year.

I had dang near the same success off of 106th. I caught 4. All were big and hungry.

I was using chartreuse gulp night crawlers below a bobber and was drifting it like a nymph.

Are those safe to eat?

Due to the fact that the river is consistantly in motion yes they are safe to eat. There is a water advisory below 2100S due to low oxygen levels. The SOD and algea are the main contributors to that water advisory. Good question tho...I used to always wonder about that too until I was informed by K2.

And hey in2fishing...my twin and I have to hook up with you soon. You sure did catch some Jordan River Monsters. I can't believe that so many people overlook that river! Thanks for your posts!

Thanks for the invite and all but we are camping at Willard Bay this weekend. Gonna fish there in the mornings and hit Mantua in the afternoons....maybe if we can convince CvFisher to get us from Logan to Bear Lake we might be chasing some big old macs! Boy would that be fun. I am gonna try to convince my twin to hit the Jordan this week (either late tomorrow or Friday) and you are welcome to join us. Thanks again for the invite and keep them coming. We always enjoy meeting new anglers out there. Since it looks like this weekend wont work out we should try for sometime next week maybe? Keep in touch...and keep up the good old kittie work out there.

+1 On what what my twin said. I was wondering if that text tonight was actually today. Thought it might be from the last adventure on Sunday and I am glad to see it wasn't. Totally need to get out there soon with ya! Of course we might need some tackle pointers from you before we head out together as you seem to have the kitties well figured out these days. Of course that is totally up to you if you want to share advise on tackle.

Oh yeah NICE FISH!!![fishin]
