#1
I was thinking of buying some land and it has the sevier river runnig through it (right by yuba) Are there any fish in there? If so what kind? Also I would not mind allowing people access but is there anything I could to to prevent stealing and lawsuits? Thanks

Several years ago I heard there where fish in there below Yuba. I think they come from the reservoir for the most part. Now under Utah law it's not legal for the public to fish there but that might possible change. I don't think you're responsible for what happens on the river normally as it's considered a public waterway. Not sure if the new law that seized public waterways and effectively made them private changes that. Prevent stealing? Move to rural Alaska where the most anyone seems to steal is a case of beer. Dogs that are highly protective of house and family works for me so far in Utah. Good luck on that if you're not always there. I'd seriously ask to walk/ wade and even fish that stretch of river before making an offer to see what fish are there now. I think before I was told mainly trout but you'd think a few perch or walleye wouldn't be out of the question.

[cool][#0000ff]There are many species of fish that live in the Sevier River below Yuba. A list might include perch, walleye, channel cats, northern pike, carp, suckers and trout. Even a bass or two. Plus, the further you get downstream toward DMAD reservoir the more likely you will be to find a few white bass and even crappies.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]The river rises and falls during the year and the fish move upstream and downstream according to water flows and spawning schedules. During low water periods they school up in deep holes but spread out throughout the river when there is more water.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]That river holds some surprisingly large pike, walleyes and catfish. Also huge carp and suckers. Those in the know harvest lots of nice fish from the deep holes in the Leamington area every year. Much of the river does run through private property but there are a few public access points.[/#0000ff]
