I have a couple of them and they are handy for sure....
I would like to get the new one that came out now too. I have so man different mounts and use them to shoot tons of videos and recently got into the timelapse photography with them.
Here is a video I did last year with it Ice Fishing.... http://youtu.be/ntRa21zIQN0
And I have a handful of others too...

I've had one for a couple years and they are great little cameras. I mostly use mine for skydiving but I have taken it fishing a couple times but just to take stills. I don't normally take a camera fishing with me. They come with a clear water water proof case so you can take under water stills or video.

Bought the HD 2 a month ago. Bought the screen on line. Comes with helmet and head mount, but I also bought a Scotty mount for my pontoon.
I too plan on getting another.

Does anybody know, is there a AV in option on it? I would like to be able to record off of my underwater camera.

I purchased the HD HERO model early this past year.
Great little HD camera with excellent video quality. I use the hat strap for videoing while fishing. I also have the chest strap but found my hands got in the way when battling the beast so I use the hat strap alot more then chest strap when fishing...awesome camera. Waterproof case is fantastic. If you get the waterproof case submerge the case without the camera in a sink full of water just to make sure you have no case leakage.
My son and avid snowboarder using it all the time also here's footage of him boarding Powder Mountain early this past year.

If you get the HD HERO model unless they've changed you'll have to also download the firmware update for this model from the GoPro website...just so you know that. Thats if they haven't changed the HD HERO model to know have this firmware installed.

this site has a few different mount options... I used the Clampit option a lot then I can put it all over the place. I did find you can go to the hardware store and make a ton of these for the price of 1 though. I guess it really depends on what you want to do with it and then get the mount that works best for that option...

No, it just a camera, plus you need to purchase the screen/monitor separate.
I am thinking of mountinga pole of sorts behind my seat on my pontoon because as mentioned, chest mount, hands get in the way. Head mount, everytime you turn your head, the camera follows, can make you sea sick...LOL
I have seen many mounts and I like the idea of it filming over my shoulder, just a thought.
The Camera does have a feature that if you mount the camera to a pole and stick it down in the water, you can right the picture so it isn't upside down.
The functions are in a little screen on the front of the camera.

i just went and picked up a few different mounts for the snow sleds and the 4 wheelers. i like the base mounts alot. once you stick them on a hair dryer will get them off
the little screen is 60 bucks and well worth it in my opinion
and with the HD Hero 2 you do have an AV option but you can only use it when the camera is out of the case. i mean i guess you could use it with out the case but once i stick it on water i doubt you will ever use it again

They have a lot of different mounts and accessories. I justuse the standard mount that you can stick anything but once you install the mout it's pretty much there for good; you can remove the mout but then the tape is no good and you can't remount it. I also have a glove which they do not sell, I had it custom made bysomeone else; they do however sell wrist mounts that are similar but I don'tcare for them. You will just have to check their website and see what they haveand if it works for you. But for fishing, I would go with the Chest/Head strap.
As for the HD Hero 1, they shoot in a very wide angle so you need to have it close to anything you’reshooting or it will look like it's far away. They also shoot in a few different resolutions. As for set upand operation, they're fairly easy as long as you read the instructions. Not sure what the 2 offers but I don't think it's too much different than the 1; maybe a couple more bells and whistles.

Here's a link that has the video of me taking a student on atandem using my custom glove for the HD Hero 1.

You sure that AV is not for sending a GOPRO image to a Monitor? This gentleman wants to send an image from an underwater camera to the GOPRO.
I will have to read up more.
With all the Scotty mounts I have on my boats now, I got one of these:

So I just got my camera but don't know what size card to get I figured the 32gb 10 class but just wanted to know what you guys were using. They are kind of pricey but not sure if the 16 is enough room or not.
