Waiting for ice is like waiting for the lions to win the super bowl or hitting the lottery.

Most lakes are not frozen,
many people have fallen though including yours truly.

a few of us are tip-towing out on the ice knowing full well at any moment we can go down.

the bite has been slow,

I did manage to pull up a 34 inch 10 pounder a couple days ago out on pontiac lake.

a week of worm weather, what little ice if any is melting once again, cant stress enough, stay off the ice!, at least dont go out alone and take rope and other safty devices to get your self out.

that said, ya I went out yesterday. aside from a few gills on pontiac lake, I had fun with this little 17inch critter on 2lb test and a green plastic gulp wax worm.

Higgins HAD a good foot of ice last week but that was before the 40 degree daytime temps hit, Steelhead action slowed down this weekend , two days of fishing , one fish on .
Who ever thought the first week in febuary would be a transition month ?

things just got bleeker.

I think the season is done.

so before I sign away the 2012 ice season, here is a pic of one last 14 inch Crappie from Pontiac Lake caught yesterday. one of 7 for the whole season.

maybe there will still be some ice up north...
