Leamington canyon....
#1
Been gone for a while and, as soon as my son gets out of the shower, I'm headed down to fish the sevier river in leamington canyon. I haven't fished there for about 6 years, but I'm hoping to bring home at least a white bass. Or walleye. Or smallmouth bass. Or brown trout. (Yes, there are smallies and browns in there). Or a perch. Or a crappie. Or bluegill. Or northern pike. Or lyme disease. Or sacramento perch, but I haven't seen them upstream from DMAD.

Anyway, hopefully I'll have some pictures and none of them will involve a trip to the ER. Smile

Didn't catch anything on the sevier, but we did get some hits on chartreuse tube jigs. The water was a little higher than I expected and there wasn't nearly as much room along the banks as there was even 6 years ago because of the growth of the tamarisks right up to the shoreline. Maybe I'll invest in a machete for the next trip.

We left and headed to salem pond for about 20 minutes and had several fish on, but weren't able to land any. Time to spend a day sharpening hooks. Smile

As a side note, has anyone else here ever fished there, in the area around the cement plant? I know a few people who have been in there after catfish, but nothing else.

Matt.
