The last time I was down there I don't think I had reception from the freeway exit for the Willow ramp all the way down the river to the middle half of Mohave Lake. lol

That's funny haha.... Hmm gotta be sprint or AT&T I watched a guy answer his phone and even play on the Internet or text message... Always had great reception around the lake with my current phone...

I'm pretty good all around Mead with Verizon but nothing south of the dam. I want to say both of my brother in laws are on AT&T and their coverage on the north end of Mead was more or less zero when they came out and visited earlier this year from California (Maybe they are on Sprint... Can't remember).

I lose reception once I'm on the AZ side of the dam, and I get nothing while I'm on the water.
Let me give you some advice....
Keep T-mobile. That way, your wife can't call you and nag at you when you're fishin.

I just checked with my brother in laws and one is Sprint and the other is Nextel. I know neither of them had very good service on the north end of Mead verse my fairly good service with Verizon.
I know a long ways from the river. Just a FYI on cell service on the Vegas area fishing spots.

Ahahahahahahah so true!!!!! But the wife is with me most of the time.... Just talked to my brother in law and he has sprint... He got reception down the river when his boat broke down... He had to hike up a hill 50ft or so but he got it lol.... I'm in no rush so I'll wait for more opinions....

I was nervous when I went down the river seeing no service. Just thinking the what'iffs. No way to get a hold of anyone if something south happened. Made me think about getting a VHF radio just for those type of scenerios. I just don't care for the idea of a big old whip antenna. My dads boat has that set-up in Montana and it was killing me when I was up front casting I had to really look around every cast otherwise I would nail that sucker almost everytime. lol

I agree with all you but it is nice to have one if your meeting a fishing buddy down at the marina or something... I had a little incident last time I went to willow haha.. Left at 3am pulled the kids from school and fished till 11 that night before returning home... Needless to say when I got reception on the way home "midnight or so" I had 30 text and 20 missed calls including metro who was at my house since my neighbors freaked we were gone and didn't tell anyone haha... And the kids out of school topped it all off.. People feared the worst but we were just having fun lmao!!!

Yup... What'iffs by myself is whatever. What'iffs when my fishing partners are both girls and not into the teens yet = the need for cell coverage. lol If I didn't come home at a appropriate time my wife would have every emergency agency out and about and on alert. lol

When I had T-Mobile, I could not get reception around Willow Beach. Nor could I get reception around Echo Canyon or Eagle Valley. In fact, I couldn't get reception in one room of my house!
I've since changed to Verizon and I now get reception in all these areas.
Funny thing is, I was playing hookie from work when my boss (in CA) called while I was fishing Willow Beach. Then my wife called an hour later.
So having cell service when you're out fishing can be a double-edged sword.

I'm on ATT and I have no reception on the river. I kind of like it that way.

Verizon on a Droid X. I get service at the marina, but it's marginal. Both call and data quality. As soon as I go up or downriver, nothing...

If you want something for absolute emergencies only, then look into some of the satellite emergency gear like SPOT.
