Took the kayak out at 7 am from Govmnt Wash. Fished in the channel with anchovies for a while and caught a small striper and one about 19 inches. Had lots of bites. On the way back I trolled a topwater close to shore and caught a 17 inch striper.

I got a late start so I didn't get out to Gov't Wash yesterday until 9 am. Just as I was ready to launch the yellow OK when wind started to pick up. I fished around the wash using a Wildeye shad with no luck. The fishfinder was showing some shad balls around 40 ft but I wasn't seeing any arches indicating striper in the area.

I started to head to 33 Hole but the wind picked up enough to start white capping and I headed back to the wash. Skunked with nada to show for the effort. I left around 1 pm but I didn't see any kayaks that way. Just a canoe with a trolling motor and the usually small boats. It didn't look like anyone was catching much.

As I was leaving about four vehicles arrived trailering jet skis. Hate those noisy, smelly pots so I was glad to be leaving.

Man I had a feeling that was you... I was right there in my boat "red and white" cruised by you and those dumb jet skiers were following me jumping my wake.... I only got to fish for like 20min then had to head back.... I drifted around hole 33 when you were heading back to government.... Man did the wind ever kick up!!! What a wet and wild ride back to Hemingway... My kids were scared like crazy haha....

Yea, I saw you go by but didn't know a fellow Forum member was piloting that boat. I almost made it to hole 33 but decided that it was not worth getting caught in possible heavy swells on the return. So gave it up and headed back. Fortunately it was mostly a cross wind back so I wasn't having to paddle upwind too much.

Yeah that was my first time out in the new boat... It wasn't to bad around the hole in my boat but the kyack would have been a crazy ride around the corner where the lake opens up... I'll say what's up next time I'm around that area if I see you our there again...

I got back to the launch site at 11 am and saw you going out, I had come back close to the shore.
