Played hooky and hit the Berry today. The Ladders had five float tubes on it . With ten people fishing off the shore. Chicken Creek east and west were both still covered. We headed to the Soldier Creek side. Had a lot more open water to float tube and to launch a small boat. People everywhere. And I mean everywhere. All throwing black jigs.(Adam Eagles favorite). Float tubed at the boat ramp. Wind started at 12:30 and really opened the bays. The boy and I landed eight Slimers. Started at 9:30 Left at One. Used black- woolly bugger. With a bead head. On sinking line. The fish are on the bottom. Good luck! (Get there early to get a good spot)
PS- Don't People Work Anymore????

We were up there today as well...on the Soldier Creek side in our pontoons. Quite a few people from the shore. I'm sure I saw you there because we launched from the boat ramp at 12:30. The wind was pretty brutal until we finally left at 4:30. Between three of us we managed to land 8 fish. I was using an intermediate sink line and everything I caught was on an olive bugger. It definitely wasn't as fast and furious as we were hoping but that's fishing. The wind really opened up a lot of water after about an hour. I doubt it will be too long before the whole soldier creek side is completely open.
