Not so Epic Local Venture
#1
My big plans to grab the boat and go chase bass got lost to family duties. Chaufer daddyo - plus a Subway bribe later - we hit a park with a playground, while I pitched some Cap-Spinners - she spun on the play-stations.

I'm not gonna "reveal" but seriously - Xmarks the spot!

It's my first fish on the bottle-cap-spinners, so I'll take it. Next time I'll put one in front of a lunker bass! Game on!

Pretty sure I know where you are. I went there last week, had some followers, but nothing bit my spinner. I wasnt there for long though. Glad to see your homemade job works well Smile

Now now - don't you dare 'out' it - or we'll have to call for your ban from BFT! {just check the stocking reports}

Had lots of follows and swipes. Seemed like they'd peck at stuff, but not commit. There are actually some bruisers down there - holdovers by the nose-scars I'd say.

Actually saw some BIG carp (followed by littler carp - hope they EAT THE WEEDS!) think I saw a bitty bluegill even, and a goldfish. Now if someone dropped a pet pirhanna in there!!!

Don't worry, you didn't put a name so I wasn't going to either Smile

I have seen some of those bruisers though. I think they have gotten that way be being smart. I have never seen a place with so many fish with lock jaw!

Hey now, it is quite the honey hole! The only other place you can catch fish that size is if you follow the twins up to Little Dell!

Yote, it is feathers or fur and a little synthetics (bottle cap) replace that hook with a Mustad C49S and I would target the bass with it. I bet a few Carp might want toplay as well. Pretty slick. Do you have a Killian Red model?

Do you have one in a Sierra Nevada? If I were a fish, I'd be all over that one, especially if it was from a bottle of Hefeweizen.

Ok, so no one needs the GPS coordinates. And since they moved from being 12-under, weeeaaallllll... fun close practice for a short time. First planting - probably be more weekly up to Free Fishing day! Don't think they dropped channels in there for a while. Too bad.

If the carp could eat all the weeds - I'd say PLANT MORE! I know some CPs have a C&R on carp - bountiful, or farmington??? Small enough - it they could dredge a bit...

I did a Sierra Nevada, don't think I had a Hiney handy. Here's the full rainy day set.

In trying to find MY post, ran across some older others. Now - note these are basic caps, mine take a level beyond with the spinners and fluff, plus rattle weights.

You can find 'em on Ebay easy enough Just think it's fun to make em yourself, add your own twist, then nail a fish on an "artificial"... I didn't even tip it with Powerbait!
